So, we're all middle-aged now...
Last time we had our own place, we were 20- and 30-somethings. Now we're a but wiser, maybe grayer (definitely speaking for myself, here) and probably fresh out of fucks to give. What's everyone up to these days?
Me and mine are all in different places in life. Still married to DH. I moved into public health when COVID struck and fell in love with it. It was an unexpected turn of events but I have never been happier in my career.
DD21 is a junior studying psychology and ASL. DD16 is a junior in high school and absolutely killing it. DS13 has grown so tall he's almost passed his dad up and is obsessed with all things Kendrick Lamar. And DS8 is my little athlete and the sweetest boy on earth.
So tell me about yours! Can't wait to hear all about it!
There is an insane amount of gray hair and I have earned every one of them! Over the past 7 years, I've gone from SAHM to medical receptionist, worked my way up to training director for the 700 employee urgent & primary care place I've been at, and earned my bachelor's in organizational leadership. I'm still with the same guy that I started dating about a year after the kids' dad died. No ring but I think I'm ok with it.
DS26 is about to go back to college for something healthcare/imaging related. DD24 (her mom died of an OD last year) graduates with her masters in forensic psychology in a few months. DS20 (the problem child that made me question life) is a month away from being a phlebotomist while continuing on to be an LPN. DS16 is graduating high school this year and going after a degree in biomed while doing an apprenticeship at Novo Nordisk. DD15 is living her authentic self and has a year of high school left.
I did it. I drug us out of the trenches. We all survived.
