Protesting
I spent the day together with a large group of people from my town protesting with nearly 1200 groups nationwide. The theme was Hands Off. For Trump and Elon to keep their hands off science, libraries, NOAA, veterans, LGBTQ rights, Trans rights, and more. It was amazing and moving and I was brought to tears more than once today. I feel so lucky to be allowed this expression of freedom speech!!
Were you out there today??
There is an insane amount of gray hair and I have earned every one of them! Over the past 7 years, I've gone from SAHM to medical receptionist, worked my way up to training director for the 700 employee urgent & primary care place I've been at, and earned my bachelor's in organizational leadership. I'm still with the same guy that I started dating about a year after the kids' dad died. No ring but I think I'm ok with it.
DS26 is about to go back to college for something healthcare/imaging related. DD24 (her mom died of an OD last year) graduates with her masters in forensic psychology in a few months. DS20 (the problem child that made me question life) is a month away from being a phlebotomist while continuing on to be an LPN. DS16 is graduating high school this year and going after a degree in biomed while doing an apprenticeship at Novo Nordisk. DD15 is living her authentic self and has a year of high school left.
I did it. I drug us out of the trenches. We all survived.
